The natural and cultural diversity of the Elephant Coast is limitless - visitors are truly 'Spoilt for choice'! Where else can you experience the Big Five and all that our coastal World Heritage Site has to offer? Some of the highest forested dunes in the world, brilliant coral reefs, palm savannahs, papyrus swamps and rolling acacia bushveld describe only parts of a magnificent and unspool land that boasts some 21 different ecosystems. Stretching along the Indian Ocean, the iSimangaliso Wetland Park (Greater St Lucia Wetland Park) was declared South Africa's first World Heritage Site in 1999, not only protecting some of the world's most precious sea, land and flying creatures but also unique plants, dune forests and inland lake systems.
