Home to Africa's oldest game reserve which was the royal hunting ground of King Shaka, Hluhluwe-Imfolozi is credited for ensuring the white rhino's survival. It is only one of many reserves in the area where visitors can encounter the 'big five' and have access to a myriad of other creatures both rare and abundant.
Perhaps you would prefer to watch the fish eagles and hippos drift by while sipping your sundowner on deck. Or view a black rhino drinking at a waterhole from the tranquility of a hide. For the more adventurous there are self-guided or wilderness trails that take you close to wildlife on foot, on horseback or in a canoe.
